This year work experience takes place during June and July. 

Yr10 students are expected to find a two-week placement 30th June – 11th July, and Yr12 students one week only, 30th June – 4th July.

Obviously it would be perfect if students could find a placement in the area in which they hope to work, but due to stringent Health and Safety Regulations in some cases this is not possible. For example a young person may want to train as an accountant, but the accountancy company he/she applied to could not oblige. This may be because the company is small and one of their employees could not dedicate sufficient time to a student, but a bigger company would be set up for such times, and more willing to take a young person.

Following last years success a ‘Job Shop’ was set up for students to visit. We have an extensive database of employers who are happy to be contacted by Kineton High School students again this year. Many students take the opportunity of taking one of the job cards, successfully securing placements. There are many placements still available, and students are welcome to view it in my office. But please remember that time is running out now. There is not a great deal of time left for students to write to employers. Completed paperwork should be returned to me A.S.A.P as all details have to be forwarded to Connexions to enable them to Health and Safety check each of the premises.
