Nikki Stevenson, Assistant Headteacher said ‘The students have been inspired by the whole excitement of being at the Olympic Park, it was a fabulous experience for them all and their enthusiasm and genuine excitement were wonderful to see. How amazing for them to know, when they see the Games in the summer, that they have been there themselves.’

PAN Consultation

It was a great opportunity made possible by the Science Museum and the Kingsley School and we would like to thank both of them for their time and efforts.

Lisa Ballard, Family Support Worker at Kineton High School, is seen below receiving the award which recognises the outstanding care provided to all young carers at the school.

Also pictured are some of KHS’s young carers with their awards.

Kineton had 2 boys football teams – a mixed Year 9/10 and a Year 7 team, and a girls hockey team. The teams played some good games against sometimes bigger opposition and had some good results.

Despite some challenging torrential weather at times, all the teams performed admirably and we were particularly pleased with the comments from coaches, opposition and hotel staff on the way our students behaved and represented their school in such a sporting manner.

Chloe Ely and Alice Mercer presented on New York. Paige Ivings-Phelps, Dylan Jackson & Rebecca Lawes presented on Sri Lanka. James Lloyd presented on the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Feedback from the Camera Club was very positive with their Chairman, Graeme Bassett, saying ‘it was most successful and a highlight of the year’ and commenting on how well the photos captured ‘the feel of New York’, ‘the smiling children visited in Sri Lanka’ and the ‘pain and exhaustion’ of the Duke of Edinburgh challenge.

The project came about after Graeme Bassett, the Chairman of Kineton Camera Club, expressed the club’s interest in seeing what sort of photographs young people take.

We are all hoping that this will be the start of a longer term partnership.

Mr David Moorcroft OBE honoured the ceremony as guest speaker.  Mr Moorcroft presented the awards and inspired the assembled company with words on the Olympic values of respect, excellence and friendship, and with his stories emphasising the importance of ambition, determination and achievement for us all.
